DENVER - Honoring retiring reservists with an American flag just got easier through a centralized process at the Air Reserve Personnel Center here.
ARPC officials now purchase and distribute the flags for all reservists who request one for their retirement.

The judging will be April 20th at 2:00 pm. We use out of town judges. The selected Miss Poppy will participate in the Memorial Day parade, the 4th of July parade and Poppy days. to Ms. Cindy Grudowski.- She is a sophomore at the Fairborn High School and was recently been named a Department winner in her category of the Americanism and Government (A & G) Testing program. She is the FIRST WINNER to come from this post in all the years we have been involved in the program. Along with 17 others throughout the State of Ohio, she will be traveling to Gettysburg and Washington D.C. where, among other things they will place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Solder. 20 Oct 2007 - CHILI Cookoff Contest - the chili cookoff didn't have quite as many participants as initially signed up, planned or expected but we did have 5 chili's that entered. It was all very good! Buckeyes won so it was a wonderful afternoon. THANK YOU to the following who brought chili for the cookoff - Michele Liebhern, Al Copher, Pam Orhman, Angie Myers, Chris Steiner. Special thanks to the JUDGES - Mike Nixon, Tim Myers, Lorena Rodriguez, Tami Rice. ALL the chili's were winners - they all tasted very good - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place went to Chris, Michele, and Angie.
6 Oct 2007 - APPETIZER CONTEST - the appetizer contest was a pretty big hit. 1st place was shrimp and crab dip, 2nd place was spicey meat dip, 3rd place was brown sugar weinies. There were several appetizers and a good time watching the game. We do believe a good time was had by all.

FROM THE FAIRBORN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (posted 2 Aug 07) -- The Farmer's Market is open in downtown Fairborn every Wednesday from 11:30am - 5:30pm. It's located in the Fifth Third Commons next to Fifth Third Bank. A lot of good home grown melons, beans, peaches, tomatoes, onions and etc. The Chamber encourages everyone to patronize the Farmer's Market. There is also a food trailer on the area so you can have lunch and do you shopping all at one time.
